As the company is based in the United Kingdom, the Historic Letters collection focuses on British history that covers different historical topics such as science, culture, medicine and the military. It took a little over the course of one year to select the most interesting letters, research them in detail and bring them back to life.”

Research
Each original letter has detailed peoples and stories behind them that took hundreds of hours to study. The letter’s contents have been summarised on a context page that allows the reader to immerse themselves in the history of each letter.

The design behind each letter had the same goal, to bring the contents back to life as if the reader was sent a letter for the first time. This involved removing damages, refurbishing the handwriting and revitalising the page background to make everything feel authentic.

Design
Once the research and design had been finalised it was time to work out how the new pages could be printed and still feel original. All the pages are printed on high quality textured paper to add to the immersion of getting a letter from the past.

With every purchase a small donation is made to the National Trust which is contributed towards planting new trees. From the stamps to the letters, everything uses paper so this donation is used to help the environment.
